Review – Tunpug SUP Inflator

Stand Up Paddle Board Inflators can be a Pain Here’s How the Tunpug solves the Issue

Power Flexibility

The problem with many stand-up paddleboard inflators is that they require a car connection for power. This isn’t an issue if you’re inflating right next to your vehicle, but often when you pull into a parking lot, you’re not exactly at the beach—there’s no space to inflate the board near the car due to limited room or other vehicles parked nearby. If you’re by the road, attempting to inflate at your car can be impractical.

That’s why this battery-operated stand-up paddleboard inflator is awesome. Yes, it can plug into your car, but it also has its own battery that lasts long enough to inflate multiple paddleboards.

Key Considerations

A couple of things to keep in mind before use:

Attachment Difficulty: The hose is quite rigid, making it somewhat challenging to connect to the paddleboard valve.

Powering On: You need to hold the power button for three seconds to turn it on.

Inflation Warning

  1. Be careful not to overinflate. The inflator takes time to register pressure buildup. Once enough pressure is detected, it switches to a slower inflation mode. You can set what psi to inflate to, and it will stop at that level. Just make sure to check your paddle board for the right range for psi.
  2. It takes about as long as doing it the hard way. This inflator takes 12-15 minutes to inflate a paddleboard, depending on size, etc. It’s just about as long as using the manual pump that comes with many paddle boards.
  3. It’s loud. This machine puts out a lot of noise. Get ready.

Overall Verdict

Despite these caveats, we’ve had a good time using this paddle board inflator.
