No more phone bill with ooma
Ooma – No more phone bills…ever.
I recently purchased an Ooma box and am glad to report I’ll be having no more phone bills, ever. I had phone line in my home that I was paying way too much money for every month. Even with slimmed down services, I cringed each time I saw my bill. Enter Ooma, with better features, better sound, and no more phone bills.
So what is Ooma? Ooma is a phone service that lets you make calls over the Internet. The great thing is that you still use your regular phones. You don’t have to buy a headset and be plugged into your computer to talk. You simply plug your existing phone into the back of the Ooma box, and then plug the Ooma box into your home’s Internet connection. Easy.
The Ooma box connects to the Internet yet the person on the other end doesn’t have to have any special setup. You can call anyone you like in the U.S., and it’s free to call.
Voice Mail – The Ooma service will store voice mail for you, and you can even check and listen to your voice mail online after you log into the Ooma Lounge.
Design – The Ooma is definitely designed well with simple, large buttons. The instructions for setup are fairly simple.
Additional Line – With their instant second line, you can essentially have two lines with one phone number, meaning you can have two different calls going at the same time in your home with one phone number. To connect other phones in the house to the system, you can purchase the smaller Ooma Scout box. Let me tell you, all of this is worth it to not have a monthly phone bill month after month, year after year!
Reliable – So far so good for me concerning the phone’s reliability; however, if your Internet connection is completely down, you won’t be able to make calls. You can set the Ooma system up to have a backup land-line connection for a minimal fee depending on who your provider is. Ooma can change that setting for you if you want to start out that way and then change. I’m going for the full Internet only version of Ooma which eliminates my monthly phone bill. Your only cost is the one-time purchase of the Ooma Hub which makes it all possible. There are no hidden fees or contracts. You can purchase the Ooma from their website or from Amazon.com. The Ooma box costs $399. All you need to do is figure out how many months it would take of your current phone bill payment until the Ooma box essentially pays for itself, and that $399 will be the best bargain ever. Remember no more phone bills from here on out!
Porting Numbers – Check to see if your number is portable which means you can transfer your number completely over to Ooma from your old service provider. If your old number can’t be ported for some reason, you can still use the land-line backup option which will retain your old number for you. You can also select the option for a brand new phone number in your area for free.
Quality – I was very surprised when I plugged in the Ooma box and listened to my welcome voice mail created by the company. The voice quality was excellent! I thought it sounded better than my old service provider. Customer service has been friendly in helping me set up and port my number.
Other Features – The Ooma box let’s me put my phone on “Do not disturb.” So, if I’m out of the office, I can send incoming calls straight to voice mail. I can even send an incoming call straight to voice mail. When I receive a voice mail, the system sends me an email notification. Your voice conversations over the Internet are also digitally encrypted from your Ooma box to the Ooma main servers.
The music world was transformed by iTunes, and the phone service world is being transformed by Ooma.
I recommend getting an Ooma. If you don’t like it, they have a 60-day money back guarantee.
Ooma-specials is also running a special rebate discount: Eliminate Your Monthly Phone Bill with ooma!
